Step by step sign up with Dubsado

Since June 2021, I’ve been using Dubsado to run Hello Lovely. It’s a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system that brings together all the administration for my business into one neat package.

It’s taken a while to settle in and there have been a few hiccups (mostly between Xero and Dubsado) but I’m thrilled with how it’s working. It also looks gorgeous with clear UX behind the scenes which is a plus for me. If you’ve heard me speak about website design then I will always suggest that you check out the back end of any platform too. If you hate how it looks behind the scenes and the UX, then you’ll never feel like engaging in your own website and it’s content. This is true, I think, of CRM systems.

The process of work and sign up with me has changed a little - and for the better, gosh it’s so much easier! I wanted to write a bit about that.

My contact page features different ways of getting in touch

  • You can book a free fifteen-minute call with me, either by phone or Zoom on the Dubsado powered calendar.

  • There’s also a paid call (the fee is deductible if you decide to work with me), also run by Dubsado.

Next steps

I’ll ask you to complete a brief from this page here which I’ll combine with my notes (or we’ll whizz through in our meeting). This includes likes, dislikes and dates. If I can’t make your milestones, I can suggest other designers or developers.

Once we’ve agreed on what the project is, I will provide you with a link to your personal Dubsado area. This will contain:

  • The packages - a list of what each package/service contains, how much, and the number of iterations. I’ll also list the cost of any relevant extra stages such as more proofs for books or branding.

  • The invoice - with the payment request to kick off the project

  • The contract - my terms and conditions with any specific additions to the job for you to read and sign. This means we’re both covered for all the legals.

I suggest making a coffee or tea, and having a read-through. If you have any questions then drop me an email or arrange a chat.

If it’s looking good, then you can select the packages you’d like and the system will ask for payment and prompt you to sign the contract. This means we can get started.

We will almost certainly have talked dates and your brief should contain any milestones. I’ll create a schedule if that helps you, and then ask you to send any material. We’ll do that in a personal project space.  This area of Dubsado is also where I’ll share the proofs or links so you can check updates. It’s password-protected so only you have access.

Once the project is completed, the system will raise an invoice and you’ll get an email from me with the payment and link to pay online.

Job done!

If you’d like to find out more about Dubsado, then please do let me know. It’s my aim to take their online certificates next year so I can help other business owners with accreditation. In the meantime, I’m happy to chat informally. If you’re ready to sign up then here’s my affiliate link if you’re interested
